Week1: The role of Technology and Media in Education

The task is the Reflection of Week 1 in a The roles of Technology and Media in Education.

The task was to start a Contact List on Gmail.

Steps in creating contact list in Gmail:
1. Sign in Gmail
2. Select Gmail on the upper left hand corner then select Contacts.
3. Add Contacts emails one by one then one the upper right hand corner select manage labels in a light blue column .
4. Select Create a label ,Type a name for the label then select OK .

The challenges I faced in Creating a Gmail contact group:
1. Having to select all 26 contacts individually.
2. Then having to create the groups. Creating a group list is new to me it was difficult I had written notes of the steps in class so I just try and try until I got thru.

I learnt how to create a contact list on gmail, it's useful  to select the group with the contacts for sending email to regular individual instead one selecting individual one by one at the time.

Constructivism – constructing your own way of learning such as making rhymes& video.

Cognitivism – is how information would be delivered, processed understand by students mind.  Social psychologist is how students and teacher’s interact in classroom.

Google For Activities

In Gmail a message was sent to complete an assignment Google form.  I had to read chapter 1 & 2 of Technology in Education workbook by Mrs. Richardson and complete the Google form on Storage Devices and Computer Basic.

Steps of Completing Google form :
1. Sign into Gmail.
2.Click the email and Read Chapter 1&2 of the Technology In Education of workbook by Mrs. Richardson.
3. Select the Email, then click on google form.
3.Type name, then click the correct answers for google form then select submit.

Conclusion: 

      The first week of Information Technology I learnt how to create a contact list on Gmail which would benefit me I communicating to my students parents sending email to parents using a contact list would be time consuming . I also learnt that the different types of Technology and Media. I learnt that I am a Visual Learner I learn better by seeing things and as Body-Kinesthetic I learn things by touching  .  
      In addition I learn that every individual learns different so as a training teach I should utensil my knowledge in what  I am presently learning now to input it in my classroom to benefit my students.
